Road Tripping Down Memory Lane

utah-road

My husband and I got married in June 2012 and immediately took a Route 66 road trip for Honeymoon #1. (Honeymoon #2 to Paris followed up a few months later…because naturally, you need two honeymoons. Ha ha!) We loved road tripping so much that we vowed to do one every year for our anniversary. The following year, we drove to Mount Rushmore. And in 2014, we did the Pacific Coast Highway, which had to be my favorite of all the trips.

Did I mention that Giada went with us on each road trip?

Unfortunately, 2014 was the last road trip we did as The Kids came into the picture. We’re hoping to make our way back into roadtripping with them, but for now, we have to keep travel a little simpler to make sure that our kids (2 and under!) are comfortable since I’m pretty sure that 8+ hours in the car doesn’t sound enticing to them. However, with summer quickly approaching, I am thinking about these past road trips – more specifically, the Pacific Coast Highway trip. I thought it’d be fun to share a few pictures from that little adventure. Hope you don’t mind.

In this post, I’ll just share a few pictures from our first PCH stop: Redwood National Park.

Gah!!!!

We had meant only to be in the area for an hour or two before heading into the Bay area where 1)I had made dinner plans with my brother (he lives there) and 2) there was an AirBnB waiting for us. However, we got caught up in the scenery and my husband pulled out the, “We’re here, so we should enjoy it” line. True. So I cancelled dinner with my brother (I wonder if he’s still salty about that three years later, ha ha) and we didn’t make it to our rental until 2AM, but I have to say that it was worth it (sorry, bro).

I wasn’t sure our car would fit, but there was a HUGE pickup truck that made it through before us.
