Happy Saturday, indeed!
This is the first time in a few weeks that I’ve had a Saturday morning to myself (my husband went to run a few errands and was nice enough to take The Kid with him), so I thought I’d sneak in a post. It’s been busy around here lately (general life stuff and we’re still working on the kitchen…) and then a cold/virus (I’m not sure which it is but it’s nasty) hit the house earlier in the week. Ugh. (Bright side: My voice sounds very manly right now. I may just have to use this to my advantage & prank call someone.) Needless to say, my attention span and energy level have seen better days. So the books I’m reading lately are on the shorter side and while fun to read, they also provide tidbits of wisdom. As you can tell by the call number stickers, I borrowed these books from the library, but I have to say that Austin Kleon and Hugh MacLeod are worth buying and keeping on hand.
And don’t worry, my 18-month-old has some literary works he’s been getting into as well:
I have been reading Duck & Goose Colors to him for many, many (MANY) months now because it’s one of his favorite books. He’ll sit there, wide-eyed listening to it be read to him. I just figured he liked hearing something familiar. I didn’t think he really absorbed any of the information, but earlier this week, he pointed out the color yellow. So woot woot! Duck and Goose, this mama likes you. XO.
What are you reading these days?
